AFRISOTA was born not from theory, but from truth.”
During my doctoral research, “Human Rights Violations Against Legal Immigrants in Minnesota,” I witnessed firsthand the cultural alienation, emotional, and systemic violence that many African immigrants silently endure. These are not distant statistics; they are the lived realities of our neighbors, families, elders, and youth. What emerged was a clear and urgent call to tell our own stories, change the narrative, reclaim our cultural power, and build new systems of care rooted in who we are.
AFRISOTA is my answer to that call. It is a sanctuary for cultural memory, a catalyst for healing, and a platform for African immigrants in Minnesota to lead with voice, dignity, and ancestral wisdom. Through storytelling, Ubuntu Circles, Advocacy, and Cultural Training, we are building not just programs, but a cultural movement grounded in truth and transformation.
To me, this is more than a nonprofit. It is a return, a reawakening, and a community rising to its full brilliance and resilience.
With courage and purpose,
